Hello everyone and welcome back! Today I have a new card to share featuring the amazing Succulent And Mum Flower Etched Dies from Spellbinders. I must admit that I’m a succulent lover :) and this awesome die set designed by Marisa Job – from her Thoughtful Expressions Collection – already stole my heart.
I started to work on this card by die-cutting the succulents’ layers several times out of white cardstock.
Then, I colored the resulting shapes ink blending them with different shades of Distress Ink: I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the bigger succulent, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers for the second one and Bundled Sage and Dusty Concord for the last one.
Once my coloring was complete, I layered the petals – adjusting them to create the three blossoms – and added some splatters on them with green and white ink for an eye catching look.
Next, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Sweet Succulents set by My Favorite Things on a strip of black cardstock and mounted it in the middle of a card base which I previously ink blended around the edges with Scattered Straw Distress ink.
Finally, I mounted the succulents on my card base and embellished it adding some clear sequins, a tiny shiny heart and a couple of funny eyes.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Hope you enjoy this project! :)
Happy crafting.
