I have a fun easel card to share with you today, showcasing the beautiful Happy Cake Day Die-namics combined with the amazing All-Occasion Scripted Greetings stamp set.
To begin, I die-cut and assembled the amazing five-layer cake slice from the Happy Cake Day Die-namics. I used white card stock for the cake slice and Fire Coral, Butterscotch, Sour Apple, Summer Splash and Grape Jelly card stock for the layers, the letter decorations and the sprinkles. I also added some white dots on the letter picks with a gel pen for added interest.
Next, I created the easel card structure. Easel cards are so cool! They look like normal cards when folded, but they immediately reveal their dimension when you open them, thanks to a thick card stock strip on the inside that allows you to stand them on display like an easel. Such fun!
I started with a regular sized card base and scored the front panel about halfway between the edge of the front panel and my card’s fold line (in this case the folds are at 2” and 5 ½”).
Then, I stamped the beautiful Number Jumble Background on a strip of Candied Yam Prestige card stock and used it to cover the lower part of my card front, right below the score line.
Finally I stamped the sentiment, from the All-Occasion Scripted Greetings stamp set, with Candied Yam Premium dye ink on a white card stock strip and adhered it on the inside, using some layered Candied Yam Prestige card stock strips to create a thick ledge so that the easel will lean against it very easily.
I finished off the card by adding the die-cut cake slice on my card front to complete the look of this colorful birthday card!
