Ink Smooshing Colorful Birthday Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by! Today’s card features Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, one of my favorite set from My Favorite Things. As I wanted this card to be colorful and happy, I decided to use these cheerful critters combined with rainbow colors. Nice, right?

First I die cut three windows off my front panel using Die-namics Interactive Window STAX from My Favorite Things.
Then I die cut the word “birthday” several times off white cardstock and stacked all the die cuts toghether to create a thicker sentiment. I colored the sentiment with Copic markers using rainbow colors and, once finished, I grabbed my Colorless Blender to give it a dotted look.

I placed the sentiment in the middle of my front panel and, before mounting it, I added some color spots on my card base with the Ink Smooshing technique. So fun and easy! I used Distress Inks for it.
I smooshed the cubes on an acrylic block, spritzed the color stains with water and used a piece of acetate to transfer colors to my card, creating a cool smooshing effect.

Finally, I stamped the hedgehogs with Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copics. I fussy cut them and placed them inside my interactive windows. Such fun!

Happy crafting!
